Rapid Whole Genome Sequencing, Familial Control
Ordering Recommendation
Use to submit required parental control samples for Rapid Whole Genome Sequencing (3005935) if reporting of secondary findings for parental samples is not desired. Secondary findings, including pathogenic variants in the American College of Medical Genetics recommended genes, will not be reported. If reporting of ACMG-recommended secondary findings for parental samples is desired, refer to Rapid Whole Genome Sequencing, Familial Control with Report (3005933).
New York DOH Approval Status
Specimen Required
Lavender or pink (EDTA). Peripheral blood required. Contact ARUP's genetic counselor at 800-242-2787 ext. 2141 prior to test submission.
Transport 2 mL whole blood. (Min: 0.5 mL)
Refrigerated.
This test is used for parental control samples associated with a proband sample submitted for Rapid Whole Genome Sequencing (ARUP test code 3005935). A report will NOT be provided for samples ordered using this test code. If a report for parental control sample is desired, order Rapid Whole Genome Sequencing, Familial Control with Report (ARUP test code 3005933).
