Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) by Quantitative NAAT with Reflex to HCV Genotype by Sequencing
Reflex test to confirm active HCV infection following positive HCV screen. Reflex to genotype aids in prognosis and treatment selection.
Quantitative Transcription-Mediated Amplification/Sequencing
New York DOH Approval Status
Lavender (EDTA), Pink (K2EDTA), Plasma Preparation Tube (PPT), or Serum Separator Tube (SST).
Separate from cells within 6 hours of collection. Transfer 3 mL serum or plasma to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 1.7 mL)
After separation from cells: Ambient: Unacceptable; Refrigerated: 72 hours; Frozen: 6 weeks
|HCV Qnt by NAAT Interp||Not Detected|
Refer to report.
If Hepatitis C Virus by Quantitative NAAT result is greater than or equal to 4,000 IU/mL, then Hepatitis C Virus Genotype by Sequencing will be added. Additional charges apply.
87522; if reflexed, add 87902
