Preferred test to confirm active HCV infection following a positive HCV screen. This test reflexes to genotype to aid in prognosis and treatment selection. Use when a high level of subtype resolution is required.

Specimen Required

Patient Preparation
Collect

Lavender (EDTA), pink (K2EDTA), plasma preparation tube (PPT), or serum separator tube (SST).

Specimen Preparation

Separate from cells within 24 hours of collection.
Transfer 3 mL serum or plasma to an ARUP standard transport tube (ARUP supply #15824). Available online through eSupply using ARUP Connect™ or contact ARUP Client Services at 800-522-2787.
