Intended for use in patients with an undetectable viral load. HIV-1 phenotyping test to determine the tropism (ie, CCR5 or CXCR4) of the virus in patients being considered for CCR5 antagonist therapy.

Collect
Lavender (K2 or K3 EDTA).
Specimen Preparation
Transfer 4 mL whole blood to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube and freeze immediately. (Min: 4 mL)
Test is not performed at ARUP; separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered.
Storage/Transport Temperature
CRITICAL FROZEN.

Thawed specimens.
