Ordering Recommendation

Intended for use in patients with an undetectable viral load. This HIV-1 genotyping test provides antiretroviral susceptibility information for protease inhibitors, reverse transcriptase inhibitors, and integrase inhibitors in cell-associated viral DNA.

Specimen Required

Patient Preparation
Collect

Lavender (EDTA).

Specimen Preparation

Freeze immediately. Transport 4 mL whole blood in the original collection tube. (Min: 1 mL)
Test is not performed at ARUP; separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered.

Storage/Transport Temperature

CRITICAL FROZEN.

Unacceptable Conditions

Thawed specimens.
