Specimen Required
Patient Preparation
Collect

Green (Sodium Heparin), Lavender (K2EDTA), Lavender (K3EDTA), Pink (K2EDTA) or Serum separator tube (SST).

Specimen Preparation

Separate from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. Transfer 0.5 mL serum or plasma to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 0.2 mL) 

Storage/Transport Temperature

Refrigerated.

Unacceptable Conditions

Hemolyzed, icteric, or lipemic specimens.

Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 2 weeks; Frozen: 1 year

Reference Interval

Less than 85.57 mcg/mL  

Interpretive Data

Values less than 2.00 mcg/mL represent absent or undetectable levels of allergen-specific IgG antibody.
