Duodenal or gastric biopsy.

Specimen Preparation

Preserve in Brucella broth with 20% glycerol immediately (ARUP supply #57678) available online through eSupply using ARUP Connect or contact ARUP Client Services at 800-522-2787. Also acceptable: Brucella broth, BHI, or equivalent with or without 10-20 percent glycerol.

Storage/Transport Temperature

Refrigerated.

Unacceptable Conditions

Fecal specimens or swabs.
