Patient Preparation
Collect

Green (Sodium or Lithium Heparin).

Specimen Preparation

Separate from cells within one hour of collection. Transfer 3 mL plasma to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 1 mL)

Storage/Transport Temperature

CRITICAL FROZEN. Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered.

Clinical information is needed for appropriate interpretation. Additional required information includes age, gender, diet (e.g. TPN therapy), drug therapy, and family history.
