Collect

Stool. Due to the various shedding cycles of many parasites, three separate stool specimens collected over a 5-7 day period are recommended.

Specimen Preparation

Preserve 2 g of stool within one hour of collection in AlcorFix (ARUP Supply #52059) available online through eSupply using ARUP Connect™ or contact ARUP Client Services at (800) 522-2787. (Min: 1 g) Additional specimen collection instructions can be found at https://www.aruplab.com/parasep. Preserving in 10 percent formalin is also acceptable.
