Collect
Plasma Separator Tube (PST) microtainer. Also acceptable: Serum Separator Tube (SST).
Specimen Preparation
Separate from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection. If serum is used, allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Transfer 0.2 mL plasma or serum to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 0.1 mL)
Storage/Transport Temperature
Refrigerated. Also acceptable: Frozen.
Unacceptable Conditions
EDTA plasma. Hemolyzed specimens.

Stability
After separation from cells: Ambient: 15 days; Refrigerated: 2 months; Frozen: 3 years
