Specimen Preparation

Transfer a 5 g stool to an unpreserved stool transport vial (ARUP Supply #40910). Available online through eSupply using ARUP Connect™ or contact Client Services at (800) 522-2787. (Min: 1 g) Mix 24-hour collection well. Do not add saline or water to liquefy specimen.

Storage/Transport Temperature

Refrigerated.

Unacceptable Conditions

Formed or viscous stool.
