Ordering Recommendation

Use to detect in vivo coating of red blood cells (RBCs) with  immunoglobulin and complement degradation products on the patient's RBCs. Useful for antibody identification and evaluation of transfusion reactions, hemolytic disease of the fetus and newborn (HDFN), and autoimmune hemolytic anemia associated with disease and/or drugs.

Collect

Lavender (K2EDTA) or Pink (K2EDTA).

Specimen Preparation

Do not freeze.
Transport 5 mL whole blood. (Min: 1 ml)

Storage/Transport Temperature

Refrigerated.

Separator or gel tubes.
