Patient Preparation
 
Collect
Plain red, gray (sodium fluoride/potassium oxalate), green (sodium heparin), lavender (EDTA), or pink (K2EDTA).  
Specimen Preparation
Separate from cells within 2 hours of draw and transfer 1 mL serum or plasma (Min: 0.4 mL) into an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.  
Storage/Transport Temperature
Frozen; refrigerated and ambient also acceptable.  
Unacceptable Conditions
Separator tubes.
