Ordering Recommendation
Preferred first-tier test for developmental delay, multiple anomalies, and autism-spectrum disorders. Testing is performed on peripheral blood.
Genomic Microarray (Oligo-SNP Array)
10-14 days (Results requiring the completion of FISH testing may exceed the standard TAT)  
New York DOH Approval Status
Specimens from New York clients will be sent out to a New York DOH approved laboratory, if possible.
Specimen Required
Patient Preparation
Green (sodium heparin) or lavender (EDTA). Peripheral blood required.  
Specimen Preparation
Transport 5 mL whole blood. (Min: 1 mL)  
Storage/Transport Temperature
Room temperature.  
Unacceptable Conditions
Frozen specimens. Clotted specimens.  
Ambient: 48 hours; Refrigerated: 72 hours; Frozen: Unacceptable
