Refrigerate 24-hour specimen during collection.  
Collect
Random urine (unpreserved). Also acceptable: 24-hour urine.  
Specimen Preparation
Add 1 g boric acid/100 mL urine. Transfer 5 mL aliquot of urine to ARUP Standard Transport Tubes. (Min: 1 mL) Record total volume and collection time interval on transport tube and test request form.  
Storage/Transport Temperature
Frozen.
