Patient Preparation
  
Collect
Lt. blue (sodium citrate).  
Specimen Preparation
Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection and freeze. Transfer 1 mL platelet-poor plasma to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube.  
Storage/Transport Temperature
Frozen.  
Unacceptable Conditions
Serum. Specimens refrigerated or at room temperature for greater than four hours. Clotted or hemolyzed specimens.
