Collect
Biliary/Hepatic, Drain, Peritoneal/Ascites, or Pleural fluid.  
Specimen Preparation
Protect from light during collection, storage, and shipment. Centrifuge to remove cellular material. Transfer 0.5 mL body fluid to an ARUP Amber Transport Tube. (Min: 0.2 mL)

Refrigerated  
Unacceptable Conditions
Specimen types other than those listed. Amniotic fluid, (refer to Amniotic Bilirubin Scan, ARUP test code 0080276) or CSF (refer to Bilirubin, CSF ARUP test code 2005248). Specimens too viscous to be aspirated by instrument.  
Remarks
Specimen source must be provided.

If protected from light: Ambient: 24 hours; Refrigerated: 1 week; Frozen: 6 months
