24-hour urine. Specimen must be refrigerated during collection. Also acceptable: Random urine (no reference intervals).

Specimen Preparation

Transfer one 3 mL aliquot to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube. (Min: 0.5 mL) Also acceptable: Specimens previously preserved with 6M HCl, boric acid, or 5 percent NaOH.

Storage/Transport Temperature

Refrigerated.
