- Collect specimens in leak proof container.
- Collect
- Peritoneal Fluid.
- Specimen Preparation
- Centrifuge specimen at room temperature. Transfer 0.3 mL fluid to an ARUP Standard Transport Tube and freeze. (Min: 0.1 mL)
- Storage/Transport Temperature
- Frozen. Specimen must remain frozen until received in lab.
- Unacceptable Conditions
- Whole blood. Bronchoalveolar Lavage (BAL) specimens. Turbid specimens.
