Identify additional allogeneic red blood cell (RBC) antibodies with adsorption procedure that uses autologous RBCs to remove panreactivity. Test will be added by the laboratory, as needed, based on results from antibody identification testing.

Plain red AND lavender (EDTA) or pink (K2 EDTA). 
Specimen Preparation
Do not freeze red cells.
Transport 10 mL whole blood (plain red) AND 7 mL whole blood (EDTA) in original collection tubes.
Pediatric: Transport 3 mL whole blood (plain red) AND 2 mL whole blood (EDTA) in original collection tubes. 
Storage/Transport Temperature
Refrigerated. 
Unacceptable Conditions
Separator or gel tubes.
